Remembering Mom on Mother’s Day Jeffrey T. Kastner | May 12, 2013 My mother taught me valuable lessons for living life to its fullest. She told me she devoted all of her time and energy to bringing me up. Sadly she passed away when I was fifteen – May 13, 1990 (mothers day) She loved life, was extremely friendly, happy and outgoing. She had an incredible personality, and a smile that was almost electrifying. My aunt wrote in her “Memories of Collette” She worked as a bakery manager at Kohls Foods; she was so attractive behind the counter. The older retired men would come into the store, some of them would call her “Blondie” and she would just beam. There was that big smile again! What I learned from my mother was not by the words she spoke, it was by her actions and character. She showed me how to be compassionate, non-judgmental, loving, and sympathetic. I really can’t say enough to tell you how amazing she was, a lot of people knew her, everyone loved her.She taught me to treat others with kindness and not with a harsh attitude. She also taught me to forgive and forget, and that you have to give in order to receive. So I give you this, no matter how hard it is to say. Make sure you tell your mother you love her.I miss my mother, and can only hope she knows how much I love her. I’ve started to realize in how many ways I was blessed to have her as my mother. She would have loved her grandson with all her heart! I’m sure she is looking down on her children, saying what wonderful fathers we are! I love you with all my heart mom! HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!
