Weebly To WordPress Importer Jeffrey T. Kastner | April 7, 2023 I have been developing a Weebly to WordPress Importer, to be able to move a website from Weebly to WordPress. Above is a partial screenshot of the Plugin interface.I initially did this to move my own website because the task of moving all the pages I had and more so to move the blog pages and all the images and comments would have been an equally difficult task in my mind. I currently have 41 pages and as of this post I have 67 blog posts, and numerous comments!I also did this because a friend of mine had a Weebly website and was also in need of a way to move her website.. and she had over 150 pages. My thought was if I develop a WordPress Plugin, not only could I use this to move my website, and my friend could easily move her website, but others could move their websites as well with the easy of adding a link and clicking ‘Import’.There are a few caveats.. There are 3rd party Weebly Apps (Weebly App Center Elements) and not the equivalent WordPress Blocks/Elements. Forms, such as the Weebly Contact Form, are added to WordPress using Plugins. My solution was to just put a placeholder in it’s place to you know what you need to manually do. Themes are not the same (and therefore Default Font Color would also be different/manually changed). Like with Weebly you would manually pick a Theme you like and change the Font Settings using the WordPress editor. The WordPress Block Editor does not have “Sections”. The Importer will merge the different sections into one. Slideshow images will be uploaded, but WordPress (the .org version) does not include a slideshow block by default so you will need to replace the Slideshow placeholder on the page using a Slideshow Plugin (there are plenty of free options).More over, there are a few things that do not translate well when moving from Weebly to WordPress but the overall takeaway is that the majority of the website, especially basic website content and the layout will and can be easily moved! It certainly beats trying to manually move an entire website!!!Things that do move (and there’s way to much to list) includes custom HTML elements, SEO (Plugins currently supported: Yoast SEO, All in One SEO), the majority of the content and the columns/layout.If you are interested in moving your website from Weebly to WordPress and want to save yourself a ton of time, feel free to contact me here: Contact Jeffrey**Because this plugin is still in development, and there is no way for me to protect it from being stolen and resold, I will retain possession and do the work of moving your website for a nominal fee.. that is I wont charge much at this point because it is a work in progress and I need websites to move to refine this plugin before offering a do-it-yourself version. Contact me, using the contact form linked above, and we can discuss cost. Note: If you need help moving a Ecommerce website I may be able to help you with moving products at a separate cost.
